Who am I?
I’m the Lead Pastor of Imago Dei Community in Portland, Oregon, a doctoral student at Duke University’s Divinity School, and an adjunt professor at Western Seminary. I’m married to Ali and we have two children.
What is this?
A free newsletter and space for me to riff off of anything I cut from a sermon, essay, book, or my academic research. It’s a way to further resource you, but also a way to keep the conversation going on theology, church, books, music, and ideas that interest me.
The name “Cut for Time” comes from Saturday Night Live. Sketches that made it all the way to dress rehearsal, but never found it to air. They’re some of the great sketches and they stand alone, but they just didn’t make the final product. This newsletter is kind of like that. Sometimes one project’s garbage is another project’s gold.
